Why Malaysia's climate needs a different approach
Most skincare advice is written for temperate climates, where the biggest risk is a product being too light. Malaysia is the opposite problem: high humidity and heat push skin toward excess oil and clogged pores, while hopping between outdoor heat and air-conditioned interiors repeatedly dries out and re-hydrates the skin barrier in the same day. Heavy, occlusive creams that work well in cold, dry climates can trap sweat and sebum here, making breakouts worse rather than better. SkinSync's scoring engine treats climate as a first-class input, not an afterthought — prioritizing lightweight, non-comedogenic, gel-based formulas for humid and tropical environments, and only recommending richer, barrier-repairing creams for genuinely dry or heavily air-conditioned conditions.
